Postcolonial analysis is basically an analysis on a text where you focus on the relationship between someone that was colonized and the country/people who colonized them.
You would also often look to critically evaluate the stereotypes and values shown in a text relating to racism, oppresion, resistance and cultural differences.
Often, you would do this by using specific postcolonial theories such as
– Edward Said’s Orientalism or
– Frantz Fanon’s Black Skin, White Mask
For examples of other things you might look at see this list: http://www3.dbu.edu/mitchell/postcold.htm
